RP 2 Investigator
Kirsten Dorans, ScD, received her doctor of science in epidemiology from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. After her graduate training, she completed a science policy fellowship with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and postdoctoral work in the Department of Epidemiology at Tulane. Her research focuses on cardiometabolic diseases, with an emphasis on implementation science, towards the goal of reducing cardiometabolic health disparities by improving implementation and dissemination of effective interventions for the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic disease. She is the contact Principal Investigator for the Tulane STRIVE study, which focuses on comparing strategies for delivering the Diabetes Prevention Program in Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) clinics in Louisiana towards the goal of reducing maternal health disparities. This study is funded through the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Maternal Health Community Implementation Project.
