Melissa Goldin-Evans, PhD, MPH

Community Core -Deputy Lead

Dr. Melissa Goldin-Evans, PHD, MPH, research interests include contraceptive access for low-income women, maternal and child health disparities, and equitable community-level solutions. She earned her Master’s in Public Health from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2008 and her PhD in Public Health from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center’s School of Public Health, Department of Community Health Sciences in 2017. Emphasizing her passion for reproductive health equity, Melissa’s dissertation pertained to measuring access to contraceptives among Louisiana women with Medicaid who were at risk of unintended pregnancies. She works with many local and statewide community-based organizations and governmental entities to address maternal health inequities in Louisiana.
