JOSEPH BIGGIO, MD, MS

Dr. Joseph Biggio, MD, MS, is a highly experienced and board-certified physician, is the System Co-Chair of Women’s Service Line and System Chair for Maternal Fetal Medicine at Ochsner Baptist Hospital. He completed his undergraduate education at Drew University in biology and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. Dr. Biggio has also completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a combined fellowship in maternal fetal medicine and clinical genetics. He holds a Master of Science degree in healthcare quality and safety from the UAB School of Health Professions. Dr. Biggio has been actively involved in research, with over 100 published manuscripts, abstracts, and chapters. He has a special clinical interest in prenatal diagnosis, ultrasound, prevention of preterm birth, and treatment of pregnancies complicated by maternal medical and fetal complications. Ochsner offers MFM services across Louisiana and Southern Mississippi, combining perinatal expertise with modern technology like virtual physician-to-patient ultrasounds. The Women’s Pavilion at Ochsner Baptist is the New Orleans destination for women’s healthcare services, offering gynecological and obstetrics visits, including gynecologic robotic surgery, labor, and delivery.
